Was heavily debating whether or not I should blog this card. On the one hand I think they turned out beautiful, on the other I have a feeling there will be some people that will be offended by them…the image and content of them.
Then I decided I don’t care.
My objective is the card I made for a dear friend. Set of cards, actually. I made a set of 12 cards with envelopes that she can use as Thank-You cards or Thinking of you cards, whatever she wants because other than the quote on the upper portion of the inside, they are blank.
I chose a beautiful shimmery Ruby Red card stock because I thought red was her favorite color (FYI: I was wrong, her favorite color is blue. Need to remember that little tid bit of information for next time.) and I paired that with flat black.
I colored in the Trinity with a darker red to make it pop off the page a little and added her initials to the lower right corner.
I lined the inside of the card with white card stock and added one of her favorite phrases to the top portion of the card but I left the lower part blank so she can write in whatever she wants.
I made 12 of these little note cards. I was going to put them in a little box and decorate it for her but I couldn’t find a little box. Damn. So as an alternative I tied them up in a black cotton ribbon.
They turned out really nice. It was fun to make something that is edgier than the cutesy cards I usually make…I think I might have to come up with another idea like this one.
To me, it doesn’t matter if people don’t like them…my friend does. And that makes me happy.
